It's finally back! After that cliffhanger the season ended on. Most anticipated of the day!

Thorfinn enslaved? Is this because he attacked the prince last season? His facial hair needs a trim and his hair a comb.
The other slave dude seems to have been through some sh!t. Will he join Thorfinn?(Don't answer this.)
But honestly, the dude could have carried and ran away or at least made an effort. Instead of literally shouting, revealing your location to more people, and just staying in one place.

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

About 4 years is quite the wait.

Veldora • 1 year ago

Indeed. I was wondering if I should dive into the manga or not.

Sprayquaza • 1 year ago

manga is worth it . trust me read a few but stopped since I wanted to witness season 2 then hop back in.

Veldora • 1 year ago

Shit, if I start, I will not be able to focus on school. Guess later.

peavey • 1 year ago

with the anime finally starting i actually think it would be more enjoyable to just watch weekly and then dive into the manga afterwards. MAPPA does good work, let them show you this beautiful story

Kirito • 1 year ago

I still prefer the animation of wit on Vinland saga but it's a new season and the animation is fantastic hd

I agree I love Mappa but I still prefer Wit when it comes to Vinland Saga and AoT but still this animation is good too.

Yeah, but let's not look past how much the animators get paid.

shaya • 8 months ago

Wish for kingdom to be reanimated by MAPPA

Kirito • 1 year ago

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Jakub Cervinka • 1 year ago

yep deffinetly worth to read the manga i did and its awesome but rn since its getting animated id watch the anime first and then ream manga. anime leaves some thing out most of the time but if you read it you lose motivation to look at the anime.

Kirito • 1 year ago

I can't wait to see how thorfinn became like this and they're now farmland saga killing is not good anymore

Spoderman • 1 year ago

i did asap, why wait? not hard to read, we read subtitles rofl

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

LMAO! Same applies as I'm a Full Metal Panic fan XD

Dark Blood • 1 year ago

Same, tho I didn't wait and just read the manga.

James Murphy • 1 year ago

Looking back that was probably the smarter choice >.> Once I start an anime though I refuse for pricinple reasons... that an spoilers >.>

Dark Blood • 1 year ago

For me I usually go for the manga cuz in most cases it's the better choices, most animes are worse than their original manga. You rarely see an anime that out do the manga, like s2 of bleach for examble, it truly out did the manga. You can try giving other animes manga a chance, that or light novel. Light Novel> Manga> Anime

James Murphy • 1 year ago

For me it's never really about one out doing the other. When I find a particularly good manga, it's just amazing to see the story and characters come to life in the anime. I really enjoyed DN Angel, but mostly because I read the manga first, I' say. Otherwise it wouldn't have interested me >: ]

Kira • 1 year ago

It's been 4 years since the last animation?!?!?! Holy sh** time moves fast, wtf

Loli Hunter • 1 year ago

Veldora • 1 year ago

They planned this.

Balder777 • 1 year ago

Vinland Saga is literally one of the only ones on my list for me lmao. Quality seinen manga can be counted on one's hand.

jose zonio • 1 year ago

yup if only some novels they adapt are faithful to the sources it would be more seinen would come just like classroom of the elites novel vs anime. I really dont understand why shitty animators do this when the medium was a seinen and suddenly looks like a shounen troupe when a lot of manga should be a seinen story. just look at hajime no ippo as well as tokyo ghoul both are being categorized nowadays as shounen when in fact both are seinen stories.

for instance even the romance genre of domekano was being dropped due to the story when in fact it was promoted as a seinen too.

Balder777 • 1 year ago

Yes he literally attacked the Royal family in the form of the prince, as a low ranking warrior. The Prince could have easily had him executed but saved his life by simply having him deprived of his rights and sold to slavery (this is obviously not like some modern dude attacking another dude with a knife, one has to take the historical social roles into account where the King/Prince was almost a God in medieval societies).

This is a very important history lesson for those that idolize Nordic society and think Vikings were just a bunch of cool raiders. Pagan Scandinavia was pretty much the only place in Europe where slavery was still a thing (thralls). In Western Europe it had been abolished by the Church, as "enslaving another Christian" was forbidden by scripture, after centuries of slavery thriving in Antiquity/Roman Empire.

Slaves permeated Nordic life and had no rights whatsoever. They were used for labor/agriculture (as seen in the anime), sexual uses, anything really. Of course this isn't to say that Africa, the middle East/islamic civilisation, and other civilisations did not have slavery. They certainly did. In fact the main customers for slaves captured by Nordic peoples were the Arabs & islamic civilisations (which they brought with their ships through rivers and seas).

But it's still jarring in a Europe which had effectively abolished slavery and lived in relative medieval peace.
